Abstract
This research examines religious heritage and its manifestations in the poetry of Muhammad Husayn Al-Yasin, recognizing religious heritage as a dynamic component of the Arabic poetic experience and a significant source of semantic and artistic enrichment for the poetic text. The study aims to uncover the ways in which this heritage appears in Al-Yasin’s poetry and to demonstrate how the poet utilizes religious references to construct his poetic experience and shape his artistic and humanistic vision.
Adopting a descriptive-analytical approach, the research examines selected examples of Al-Yasin’s poetry, tracing the presence of the Holy Quran, the Prophetic tradition, and the heritage of the Ahl al-Bayt (the Prophet’s family), along with the associated figures, events, and religious and human values. It also explores the semantic and artistic dimensions of this utilization—specifically, the heritage's role in deepening meaning, constructing imagery and symbolism, and adding new dimensions to the poetic experience.
The study concludes that religious heritage in Muhammad Husayn Al-Yasin’s poetry serves not merely as historical material or a cultural reference point but transforms into an active creative element in shaping the poetic text. The poet reinterprets this heritage within the context of his own experience, imbuing it with meanings related to human issues, values, and perspectives on life. Thus, the presence of religious heritage reveals an interplay between tradition and creativity, and between authenticity and innovation, thereby enriching Al-Yasin’s poetic experience and lending it semantic and artistic depth.
