Abstract: (14 Views)
Many Orientalists have researched Islam and its history and culture, writing numerous books on the subject. Of course, some of them have achieved acceptable results and written useful books, but many have reached conclusions far from the truth due to falling into the traps of biased judgments and preconceived notions, misleading themselves and others. On the other hand, Raymond Dequin, as an Orientalist, has recently expressed some opinions in his book "The Beginning of the Praise of Ali and the Emergence of Abbasid Worldview." The aim of this research is to examine whether Mr. Raymond Dequin has arrived at real and correct conclusions in his deductions in this book or not?!
Considering the content of the discussions and conclusions of the book, it is likely that he has reached unrealistic and misleading results through a kind of bias and reliance on unreliable historical documents and narratives, as well as naivety. It is worth noting that this research has been conducted using library-based methodology and the analysis of historical sources along with scientific critique.
