As any language learning requires a dictionary, and since researchers in the area of second language teaching always suggest using monolingual dictionaries, it seems necessary to discuss the merits of this type of dictionaries for teaching and learning the Arabic language to non<em>-</em>nativespeakers. The present study, therefore, is aimed at investigating through (<em>Al-Ma'ajam al-</em><em>Wasseet</em>) for its special status within the scientific and cultural community and as one of the most important references in Iran. It is found that the aforementioned dictionary, despite its scientific merit and lexicon richness, is unable to fulfill the complete needs of the non<em>-</em>nativelearners. This study also makes some systematic linguistic observations about other dictionaries that undoubtedly would be helpful for dictionary compilations. هذا البحث ینبنی علی البحوث والدراسات الجامعه والشامله فی صناعه المعاجم العربیه وعلی تجارب باحثیه فی تعلیم اللغه العربیه فی إیران طوال سنین متتالیة، حیث لا یستغنی أیّ معلم ومتعلم للغه من مراجعه المعاجم اللغویة، وبما أنّ باحثی أمر تعلیم اللغه الثانیه یوصون دوماً بالإفاده من المعاجم الأحادیه اللغه فیبدو من الضروری أن نناقش قبل کل شیء مسأله جداره هذا الصنف من المعاجم اللغویه العربیه المعدّه لأبنائها أولاً وبالأصالة، لتعلیم من لم یکن من أبناء اللغة. بناء على هذا یقوم هذا البحث بدراسه نقدیه فی المعجم الوسیط نظراً لمکانته الخاصه فی الأوساط العلمیه والثقافیه فی إیران وکثره الإحاله والرجوع إلیه لدی أبناء اللغه الفارسیة، ویُثبت أنّ المعجم الوسیط -علی شهرته الدولیه وأصالته العلمیه وعلی غزاره مادّته وتنوع أسالیبه- أصبح لا یفی تماماً بحاجه متعلمی اللغه العربیه من غیر أبنائها؛ کما أنّ البحث یبدی ملاحظات لغویه أو منهجیه علی المعاجم عامه وعلی المعجم الوسیط خاصة؛ ملاحظات لا یکاد یستغنی عنها کل من یقوم بالتألیف المعجمی. https://aijh.modares.ac.ir/article_19559_ea453a688414b3324691055fc4ad8767.pdf
